eBook Chapter response improvement for eBook Alternatives

To replicate: please use Breda University for Applied Science

Background:

The client has subscribed to both eBooks and journals on Elsevier. However, they noticed that responses on eBooks can be improved.

Currently, when you arrived at the eBook main page, you will see an eBook Alternatives pop-up, because an ISBN exists on the page: https://www.sciencedirect.com/book/9780124081383/eye-tracking-in-user-experience-design

However, if you click into one of these book chapters, there is only DOI on the page. And because the university only has ISBNs on their holding (no DOIs), these eBook cannot be surfaced with the extension: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/B9780124081383000017

Proposed solution:

I have suggested to the client to add an Assist Message to encourage patrons to either use highlight & search to look up the title, or to go to the main eBook page. But the client stated that they have subscribed to both journals and eBooks on Elsevier, this is not going to be a suitable solution.

Suggestion:

From the page source, the DOI page does identified as an eBook Chapter. Can we do the next step to look up the ISBN that is associated to the eBook Chapter, then we can surface eBook Alternatives on these eBook DOI page?
