I did indeed find the option (thanks for pointing to the right direction) to place the floating button elsewhere on the screen, but we are missing the option on the dashboard to choose a default for our users (including to have it switched off; in which it still should be made possible for users to decide for themselves to switch it on, including the position of the button). Now it is on by default, bottom right in which it is partially blocking the link to contact the library. And most of all, as customers of Lean Library Access (including Assist and Alternatives) the button doesn’t offer our end users anything extra, except for the aforementioned empty Tools.
We think that having the button on by default in our case might have a negative effect on the user experience. As laid out below, it does not really offer any extras for them, at least nothing they can’t get by clicking the LL icon in the browser’s extensions bar.
Suggested solution by the client: They would like to turn off the floating action button by default in the dashboard
